Nollywood asks DSS to release Ifeanyi Ubah after its second 14days exparte order expires without charge

Cross section of Nollywood Artistes have joined millions of other Nigerians, calling on the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to immediately release the Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah.

Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah has been arrested and incarcerated since May 5, 2017, by the Department of State Services, DSS, led by President Buhari's kinsman, Lawal Daura, who has also been out of the country with Buhari, in London.

The calls by the Nollywood Artistes came as the second 14 days kangaroo exparte order the DSS got on May 25, 2017, from the FCT High Court, Jabi, Abuja, to further detain Ubah expired on June 8.

Since then, the DSS which has failed to obey several court orders to produce Ubah in Court, or even release him unconditionally, has failed to charge him with any crime.

This is the same DSS whose reckless lawyer told the world that Ubah was an economic saboteur who deserves death penalty.

Discerning Nigerians, including Nollywood Artistes who know the real truth about the sour contractual agreement between Ubah's Capital Oil and Gas and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, have continued to call for Ubah's immediate and unconditional release.

This is even as they have called the NNPC, thus the Federal Government to reconcile accounts with Ubah's firm it is owing over N16billion, while the NNPC claimed Ubah's firm owes it N11billion.

However, a recent development shows NNPC's claim is actually not N11billion but lesser than the figure.
