A factional National Publicity Secretary of APGA, Hon. Ifeatu Obiokoye has refuted the rumour that Court of Appeal Abuja has ruled in favor of Martin Agbaso and adjourned till November. Read below:
Press Statement.
We Are Really Amazed And Amused About The Uninformed Conjectures And Sterile Analysis Of The Proceedings At The Court Of Appeal Abuja Division Today. I Was In Court As One Of The Counsels In The Matter. Our Lead Counsel Was Onyechi Ikpeazu San. Firstly, Let Me Correct The Impression Concerning Martin Agbaso...... Agbaso Is Not A Party To This Suit And Nothing About This Suit Concerns Martin Agbaso.
This Suit Pending At The Court Of Appeal Was Instituted By Late Ozo Nwabueze Okafor As 1st Plaintiff With APGA As 2nd Plaintiff. The Suit Purportedly Challenges The National Chairman, Dr Victor Ike Oye, The Deputy Chairman North And Deputy Chairman South Who They Claim Were Suspended By The National Working Committee (NWC)
The Trial Court (FCT High Court) Had Stayed Proceedings In The Suit In December 2016, Following An Interlocutory Appeal Against The Ruling Of Court Made On 7th December 2016
What Is Therefore The Implication Of The Adjournment To December 2017.
The Implication Therefore Is That As Long As That Appeal Is Pending At The Court Of Appeal The Miscreants Who Have Since Been Expelled From The Party Can Not Proceed To Another Court To Prosecute Their Claims To The Leadership Of The Party, ( As They Did At High Court Of Enugu State) As This Amounts To A Clear Abuse Of Judicial Process .
So The Adjournment Of The Court Of Appeal Matter Remains Strategic
Meanwhile The Court Of Appeal Has Warned Counsel Purportedly Appearing For APGA Who Were Not Briefed By The National Legal Adviser To Be Careful As The Court Of Appeal Will Deal With The Issue Sternly
