Kaduna Declaration: Sickly Security Apparatus, Failed Leadership, Buhari Should Resign or be Impeached – Tobenna Obiano.

A few days ago, a group under the umbrella of Arewa Consultative Forum, youth wing had come together in Kaduna State and made a very disturbing, divisive and unguarded statement which is capable of causing unrest.

In what is now known as the Kaduna declaration, they had ordered Igbos residing in various parts of Northern Nigeria to park up their belongings and leave the North within the next three months. I mean, what nonsense? Who does that?

This is a big threat to the collectiveness of this nation and to the security of her people. In sane havens, by now, the organizers and signatories to that lugubrious declaration should be cooling off in detention, but well, this is Nigeria, where some class of individuals are clearly above the law and infact, they are the law themselves.

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, a diminutive champion of dual ideology and double standard have a counter threat that those who do not know him even took him seriously. He swiftly asked for the immediate arrest of all signatories to the absurd declaration, well till today, nothing has been done.

It's been nearly a week and yet, all the Nigerian security apparatus hasn't done a thing to manage such unprovoked excesses from these guys. What about the Federal Government, oh yes, we have none! They have remained mum and looked the other way. Unbelievably, not a single arrest has been made, but if Biafran apologists proceed on a peaceful protest, all the Nigerian security team, army, police, navy, Air Force, civil defense, road safety, and even MOD and boy's scout will come out in their numbers to shoot them at sight!

Nigeria elected one certain sickly illiterate cattle rearer from Daura as President and in two years plus, he hasn't been disposed to work, infact, the President is somewhat incapacitated to discharge his duties, yet we have a democracy, we have legislators and nothing, absolutely nothing has been done as regards doing the needful.

When was the last time the President actually discharged his duties as the duly elected President of Nigeria, most say January, others say it's been way back even before his sudden hospitalization and re-hospitalization in London.

No one is above been ill or sick, but then if it persists and is taking the greater part of you and disrupts the running of a Government and managing of her people, it is more diligent to simply resign and hand over to a more willing, more serious-minded, a more capable hand and perhaps healthier individual. Health first before anything else.

Nigerians didn't actually vote him to come and have tax-payers money for his personal health challenges. And if he were to be serious, two years is more than enough to either erect or upgrade to worldclass standard a select few of our General hospitals from mortuaries to truly hospitals and he receives his treatment here, not jetting out every now and then for even as little as ear treatment. African best, Nelson Mandela was treated at his home country of South Africa until his demise.

Patriotism goes beyond pledging loyalty, love, respect and unity of Nigeria. It includes doing the needful and doing the nation good. Nigeria is supposed to have a functioning Government but well, one doesn't understand the term "Coordinator of Nations", while the Commander in chief is holidaying in a London hospital.

This is the moment to show true love and unparalleled loyalty to the progressiveness of Nigeria. This is the moment to stand up for justice and right. This is the moment when history beckons on us to do just what is right. This is the moment when patriotism counts the most. Let President Buhari resign with immediate effect or forced to do so, and let's stop Yemi Osibanjo from walking the streets everyday and taking photos with hungry market women and poorly fed school children and posting on social media instead of taking, head-on, the callings of the office of the Nigerian Presidency.

The National Assembly, the Senate and House of Representatives are toothless bulldogs. The Nigerian Governors Forum is a useless one. All are a class of shameless, helpless and unintelligent fellows. No one has summoned the courage to come public and request the resignation of a sick man to go manage his failing health, even our conventional Activists suddenly lost their voices and their love of our nation gone into oblivion.

If it were to be Yar'Adua or Jonathan, every nonentity and nincompoop from the street of Kano up to Maiduguri through to Jos will all defile usual bombing by the BH boys and their friends from Lagos through to Osun and Ogun down to Edo and some "ndi-ara" in Igboland and down through PortHarcourt to even Bayelsa would pridefully champion the movement as activists.

Labour Union, civil rights union, the Nigerian Judiciary, Religious leaders, community leaders, market men and women and even Nigerian youth council and student union have all lost the Aluta spirit. How on earth did we all suddenly lose our voice at once. Does EFCC also go after market women, students, Religious and our Royals. This is unbelievable and indeed, sad!

Now, if one raises a voice, he is labeled been sentimental or a terrible destructive critic instead of seeing the truth of one coming up with constructive criticism.

Welcome to Nigeria, where everything is played out as politics, including drawing on the line of divisive ethnic nationalities, cultural heritages and bigotry in our religion.

Is this a nation?
Shame!

Tobenna Obiano
