Police arrest students of Federal University of Technology, Minna, for alleged robbery.

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two students of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, for alleged robbery.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said the suspects, Ologa Samuel and Salim Balarabe, were apprehended by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad during a joint operation with the security operatives of the university.

Elkana, who did not disclose the department of the suspects, said they  robbed one Nwosu Stephen and snatched a laptop valued at N130,000 and two handsets.

It was learnt that the suspects were arrested on Saturday.

The police spokesman urged parents to advise their children to steer clear  of trouble and face their studies.

He said, “The police will not tolerate this ugly behaviour from students. It is either they face their studies squarely  or leave the state. We will put a stop to students’ gangsterism in this state.”

Elkana added that the command had commenced investigations into the case.
