[PHOTOS] Car Crash in Ukpor Leaves Four  People Critically Injured

An accident involving two vehicles at Ukpor girl's junction along Awka Etiti-Utuh-Isseke Expressway, popularly known as Onuselogu road in Ukpor, Nnewi South L.G.A on Thursday has left more than four people seriously injured.

One of the vehicles, a Toyota Sienna, was said to have dived into the expressway without carefully observing the oncoming vehicle which led to the crash.

An eyewitness who was at the scene of the accident said it happened around 2 pm on Thursday. It involved two vehicles ─ a Toyota Sienna and a 14-seater-bus conveying people who were returning from a burial

"I think it's the fault of that Sienna driver because he didn't observe very well before bumping out of the road like that. He was coming from that road that leads to Ukpor Girl's high school while the other bus was coming from Isseke when they collided.

"it's the Sienna that's supposed to wait for the bus to pass, not the other way round. It's just very unfortunate.

"Three of the passengers of the bus had broken legs and hands while one suffered what appeared to be a spinal cord injury. Almost all the occupants were injured but not as much as those four. They were later taken to one of the hospitals around the area. I just pray they survive," she said.

It was gathered that the occupants of the bus were returning from burial in Aba, Abia State when the unfortunate incident occurred.

The popular expressway has claimed two lives in the last one week

We wish them quick recovery.
