Gentlemen,
Permit me to digress a little bit today. I am one of the commentators on social media that many has misunderstood for filthy reasons of hating Mr. Peter Obi our former Governor.
Without much ado, let me make it point clear in this expose, that no one love Mr. Peter Obi as much as I do. Yes, none of his acclaimed lovers today, knew how much I relish Mr. Obi. I don't even have the power to hate my fellow man as that was admonished against by the Holy Bible.
Mr. Peter Obi undoubtedly, piloted the affairs of this State from 2006 - 2014. Under his reign as APGA Governor, Anambra State witnessed tremendous development. He was celebrated amidst various platforms. In fact all the Igwe's in Anambra State rallied round him and coronated him THE OKWUTE ndi Igbo at the penultimate of his tenure. These were all done believing that indeed we have all gotten a true leader.
BUT something happened along the line....
What's that...? An interest cropped up and Mr. Obi left APGA. That's not the issue. Many of his followers has credited him for such move. Its well and good because its his right to join any political party of his choice.
BUT Let's get closer to where I am driving at....
In your assessment of Mr. Peter Obi as an acclaimed wealth creator, is Peter representing what he ought to at the moment in our political and socioeconomic life...? I will leave you with the answer by yourself.
BUT FOLLOW ME.....
Few days ago, a group of persons from Mr. Obi's town Agulu gathered at Golden Tullip Hotel, Lagos in What they called AGULU Business Seminar. I heard of it and was glad that perhaps core issue of development and under development especially as it involves AGULU community will be discussed. I was grossly disappointed when nothing of such was reported. The meeting like every other public functions attended by Obi deviated and become a ground to aver his anger on his successor. Mr. Obi didn't end there. His response on why he frustrated INEC from conducting re-run election in Anambra Central was utterly childish and unpatriotic. That is even not my worry. Because, the God of the oppressed shall speak for them at the right time.
LET ME SHOW YOU AN EXAMPLE....
In that meeting, Mr. Obi told his people that he is amongst the 8,000 richest people in the world. He said that he can afford to visit wherever he wants in the world. Those things to me, are quite revealing and it also gives credence to what have been saying that he is not where he should be at this moment.
I will compare Mr. Peter Obi and his fellow 8,000th richest people in the world in Anambra State. I will tell you what those guys are doing in their villages in Anambra state even without holding any political position ever.
Dr. Maduka of Umuchukwu Town.....
Dear Readers,
.............Please google the above individual and I tell you that, you will be marvelled at what he has turned his community into.
Dr. E.N.A. Obiejesi (Obijackson)....
Just visit Okija today and see for yourself. Which of them shall we talk...? - the Obijackson Gulf Course...? - the Jesuit College Okija...? - the Obijackson Children Hospital ( World Standard) in Okija...? etc.
Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. What else do we need to write about Dr. Ubah...? A visit to Nnewi his village will show you better.
What about Sir Emeka Offor...?
Dr. ABC Orjiakor...? and so many others.
In Anambra State today, we have so many 8000th richest men in the world.
WHAT THEN DID MR. PETER OBI DID FOR AGULU PEOPLE AND WHAT HE HASNT DONE....?
Mr. Obi has done a lot for Agulu. Yes he has. He has given them an award of standing amongst the communities in Anambra State with the Best Intra-Community road network. There is no road within Agulu today, without the presence of Peter Obi. With our common wealth, Peter Obi tarred his village all nooks and cranny as against what Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, Dr. Maduka, Sir. E and so many others did with their personal money.
NOW LETS EXAMINE WHAT PETER DIDNT DO....
Mr. Obi has left as Governor. He is currently living out of his wealth and hard work. He is amongst 8000th richest men in the world. But beyond being the Governor, show me what Peter has done for his community. OK.... Let's I forget, He has bought them Keke NAPEP, He has given them a mini shuttle at a higher purchase rate ( you can verify yourself). Mr. Obi has in the time past, shared some cash especially at occasions where and when reasons to use them politically arises.
BUT
Are those efforts good enough...? Juxtaposing them with what his likes are doing in their various communities with their own personal monies.
Let's call a spade a spade. Mr. Obi seriously is not really fair to his people. The Agulu Community deserves more from Mr. Peter Obi. There are several establishments of Mr. Obi scattered all over the world. My question is, is it a crime to build any of such firms in his home town and employ at least only Agulu people. The popular Golden Tullip Hotel today, that Mr. Obi is currently considering a possible legal suit against the management of the Hotel in future, ought to be owned single handedly by Obi. Yes as 8000th richest man, he can.
In Lagos, Mr. Obi left the main socioeconomic development of Agulu community and took on how he did this and did that. We are tired of hearing what and how he lead Anambra State because we know of it and we have said THANK YOU. Even how he paid for the future of all of us and how our State owned University as at today, remained one of the costliest in Nigeria. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR ALL THOSE THINGS.
For now some else is there. You put him, you told us he will do better than you have done. You asked us to support him and APGA, we must do all those things you requested from us in 2014. An attempt to pause us and change him, will be resisted.
AGAIN I MUST URGE AGULU PEOPLE TO PLACE A DEMAND ON OBI ....
It is not a crime if Obi...gives Agulu People.
- World Class Health Care Centre.
- World Class Cheapest Private University, Secondary, and Primary Schools.
- World Class shopping mall with free goods and services.
- World Class sports centre and facilities.
- World Class Cinema Centres etc all by his personal money and desist from these local politics and distractions.
Until he does that, I shall continue to ask AGULU People WHATS WRONG...?
