Opinion by Mazi Chidi Orjika speaks on the current issues in Anambra State

It is Napoleon Hill that is quoted to have said that from the sublime to the ridiculous is but a step.

Thus the recent events in the state gradually validates my earlier warnings, when  I wrote that the densely populated Government of Obiano is gradually turning our serene and peaceful state into a political slum with the soaring of  'flying toilets' above our heads, many who do not have the third eye and sixth sense of reasoning never understood me.

Now, we are not only having flying toilets in terms of cheap blackmails that this government through its mercenaries  peddle from one doorstep of the political opponents to another, but also 'flying slaps' from the Government house/lodge with its viral replication at the Onitsha North LGA recently.

Obviously, I would like to reiterate  that Ndi Anambra have endured the deceits, the propaganda and the irritating recitations of few lines of achievements of this government that are chewed and regurgitated in various media channels weekly, but the most embarrassing feat this government wants to add to its already list of disappointments is its recent desperate efforts to turn the once clean, tolerant Anambra Political environment into a political slum and social menace by  its  recent tyranic actions.

Only this year alone, opposition party chairmen have been threatened at random, people houses are bulldozed in a commando style by the APGA AVENGERS otherswise  called ocha brigade at Nkwelle Ezenuka  without  due notice or valid Court order.

We have reports of sponsored crisis in many communities with respect to PG or Igwe ship positions.

While ndi Anambra watch as these events unfold, the governor has just took its desperation to the next level  by banning all opposition parties from freely using posters to campaign in the state.

Meanwhile, the duo of Chief  Godwin Ezemo and Dr Tony Nwoye took recourse to rule of law by approaching  the Court to seek interpretation of this obnoxious policy.

While the case is still in Court, another arm of the state government code named ANSAA took the law unto itself and went to defecate and tore to shreds the Campaign Bill Board of PAUL CHUKWUMA of UMUERI who is an APC governorship aspirant  that is mounted at a Federal Highway, right in front of Tourist Garden Awka.

This is an an affront to Umueri as a community, a challenge to a duel to APC and a glaring dare to Ndi Anambra.

This government must learn to curtail its excesses and contain its political desperation  within the ambits  of law.

Anambra is known for its peaceful coexistence, non partisan  interpersonal relationships and harmony as a state for ages and we cannot allow the political desperation and undisciplined ambition of one  man to turn this state to  anarchy.

Therefore, we must all rise to fight this gradual neo-tyrannical tendencies  that are gradually rearing it's ugly head in our state.

Let the rule of law reign
