Amoo Must Go! 3SC fans shout after humiliation by FC Ifeanyi Ubah

Fans of Shooting Stars of Ibadan have made a passionate plea to the management of the club to sack coach Fatai Amoo in the wake of the club’s heaviest home Nigeria Professional Football League defeat in six years.

The Oluyole Warriors lost 3-0 to FC IfeanyiUbah on Sunday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan with goals from Godwin Obaje, Pascal Seka and a sublime free-kick from King Osanga. It was the Amoo-led side’s eighth defeat of the season.

The defeat left 3SC in the relegation zone in 19th place on 22 points from 20 matches, two points from safety.

Amoo only joined the club at the start of the season after Gbenga Ogunbote left the club.

“He (Amoo) has not improved the team at all, let him just go so we can salvage our season,” an angry fan, Oluwole, reacted after the game.

Another club fan Wasiu Adejoye also blamed Amoo’s tactics for the defeat and poor campaign.

“He doesn’t have any tangible tactics or quality options on the bench, so we are stuck with these inexperienced players,” Adejoye said in Ibadan moments after the shock defeat.

A 78-year-old fan Alhaji Muniru Shodiya also rained curses on the players for ruining his day. He said: “I had a chance to go out and watch Chelsea but as a loyal fan I came here to watch Shooting. They ended up messing my evening. ‘Awon Olori buruku’ (wretched fellows).”
