UPDATE: Relief For Ukpor Town As Long Time Electricity Challenge Comes To An End

Repairs continue today on all the transformers across the town  
The major challenge the people of Ukpor in Nnewi South are facing for years, which is electricity seems to have reached the dead end, cfrmagazine.com exclusively reports.

According to a statement made by Elechukwu Nwanya, PA to the Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu, Ukpor light issue has come to end as some EEDC staff met with Ukpor town union President and secretary to ascertain the status of all the Transformers across the town after an initial agreement was reached with the two parties. The full details of the agreement was not available to cfrmagazine.com as at the time of filing this report, but during the recent Town Hall meeting, Hon. Maduagwu stated that the town union body has raised some money in respect to that effect.

"Good News!!!

Ukpor light to be restored soon

Ukpor Light issues has come to an end.
Today (April 13th) ,The staff of EEDC met with the President and the secretary general of U.I.U to ascertain the status of the transformers. The group were then Led by Hon.Engr. Anene Izuchukwu round the various transformers we have in the community.

A maintenance will be carried out tomorrow(today) followed by full restoration.

We want to thank our own Rt.Hon.Speaker, Rita Maduagwu, for her efforts in making sure that things are done rightly in our community.

Our gratitude also goes to our own brother, Hon. CID Maduabum for his immense contribution towards the project.

To the Ukpor Development Trust Fund,we say thank you all.

Echi ga abu  echi oma !!!"

The light will likely be restored before or during the Easter holidays and this will be a big relief to the entire people of Ukpor who have before now demonstrated their anger and frustration over continuous total blackout without any solution.
