Mikel Undergoes Surgery In England, Eager To Return To Fitness

Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi on Saturday posted a picture on his Instagram page which shows him in a relaxed mood and revealing that he had a successful operation in England.

The Tiajin TEDA midfielder  was ruled out for three weeks after he suffered an abdominal strain and has missed his club's last four games, includes the 4-0 routing of the club in the hands of Hebei CFFC on Saturday.

“Surgery went well, rehab next… can’t wait to be back ?????? shame I can’t be on the pitch fighting with my team #TianjinTEDA #TEDAFightingFightingFighting ????,” the former Chelsea midfielder wrote.

Mikel has played just three times for his Chinese club who are currently placed 10th in the Chinese Super League. His club and international teammate Brown Ideye was in action in the defeat on Saturday.

Tiajin TEDA's next game will be on Tuesday.
