Opinion: We have won CAF Presidency after 29 years of Issa Hayatou, By Adichie Izuchukwu

By, Amb Adichie Izuchukwu

The chances for Issa Hayatou to retain CAF Presidency was far diminished compared to the Presidency of Ahmad Ahmad. This was as a result of the massive support which Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah; Anambra State FA Chairman and President, FC Ifeanyi Ubah accorded to Ahmad Ahmad, Head of Madagascar Football Association.

History had earlier maintained that whatever has a beginning must surely have an end. In Confederation of African Football, the same history has also shown that the last time the Football Organization elected his number one leader was way back in 1988 since her creation in 60 years.

The election which brought Ahmad Ahmad as CAF New President and Amaju Pinnick; the NFF President as New Member of CAF Executive Council has herald an African Football Change.

A Football Revolution in Africa?

With regards to Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah's involvement where he openly gave both Ahmad Ahmad and Amaju Pinnick his supports during the laters visit in Abuja Fortress, this really does tear down every support Issa Hayatou has in his shelf.
Dr Ubah who is currently leading a greater Football Revolution in Anambra silently has always maintain his support to both men, saying, I believe in what both can do for Football in Africa, they will definitely do a good job.

This is an indication that Ahmad Ahmad is surrounded by good people filled with vision and mission to re- strategize, re-position and redevelop Football not only in Africa, but in global Football Sector.
Now that his work has just begin, Africa will not settle for anything less but, the best in Football business. Yes, such a beautiful and memorial Thursday in far away Ethiopia, African Football shall be Reintegrated Again.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Issa Hayatou's 29 years in Football power has just been brought to an end by rejuvenated men who understood what Football mean for Africa.

These are the new Sheriff in town as Pinnick Amaju defeats Anjorin 32-17. We say congrats Nigeria!!!

Ahmad Ahmad defeats Issa Hayatou 34-20. Congrats Africa!!
