Nnamdi Kanu's Freedom And The Stake Of Ndigbo in Post-2015 Nigeria, By Ikenna Asomba

For the first time the creme de la creme in our own South-East Nigeria are now living up to the billing particularly in terms of the needed unity required to ascertain that Ndigbo are United when the chips are down.

Within the last 20 months of this Pathetic and Rudderless President Muhammadu Buhari administration, our sons and daughters have been murdered in cold blood by State Actors just because they are exercising their fundamental rights of Peaceful Assembly as enshrined in the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Since October 14, 2015, this Rudderless Government has Illegally detained our own son, Nnamdi Kanu over airing his views on Self-Determination, a fundamental right guaranteed by International Treaties such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) 1948.

If Nigeria is a signatory to the UDHR 1948, which guarantees for Self-Determination, why then is Buhari's government still detaining our son, Nnamdi Kanu for over 16months now, and even seeking his secret trial despite the fact that Courts of Competent Jurisdiction have ordered for his immediate release on bail, including the ECOWAS Court.

Any Nigerian who don't see anything wrong in the Human Rights abuse by this Pathetic Government already ending in Political Shambles needs to be taken to Yaba Left

For the records, I once again chide our brothers, Prof. Charles Soludo,  Prof. Pat Utomi et al for throwing their weights behind this Rudderless Government pre-2015, despite the human rights abuse antecedents of the Incommunicado Sheriff we have in London.

It is Truism that Nnamdi Kanu is never Buhari's Problem. He has never held any political office in this Failed State for Buhari and his minions to accuse him of their popular anthem- "He is Corrupt."

Therefore, without much ado, I call on all Igbo sons and daughters to begin to call for the Immediate Release of our own son and brother, Nnamdi Kanu.

The Release of the Defiler of Ese Oruru is still fresh in our memories. The Release of the Killers of Abuja Preacher, Bridget Agbanimhe is still fresh in our memories.

Ndigbo makes up one of the Three planks holding this country. Why have we now then been treated with so much disdain since 1966 till date?

Since 1966, and after the 30month fratricidal civil war, declares "No Victor, No Vanquish," anytime issues affecting Ndigbo is brought to the front burners of national and international discussion some regions get Highfalutin Masturbation about it.

We were all in this country when this Rudderless Buhari Administration bluntly refused to appoint any Igbo son or daughter in his Kitchen cabinet. We were all in this country when this Rudderless Administration glaringly refused to appoint any Igbo son or daughter to head any of the security apparati.

Never has any part of the Three Planks holding the fabrics of this nation been so humiliated like Buhari did to Ndigbo in 2015. Yet, some of our sons and daughters though pained but didn't raise an eye brow.

While some of us Cried foul, we were labelled Wailing Wailers still licking the sores of losing the 2015 election. Even, one of our Efulefu sons, Joe Igbokwe mocked, sneered and jeered at Ndigbo because of his Stomach. One is now forced to ask, Is Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan an Igbo man?

Nonetheless, for the first in recent time, Governors of the Incomplete 5 South-East States are now coming together and talking; for the first time Ohanaeze Ndigbo is now talking; for the first time, Igbo Intellectuals are now talking.

I say this without fear or favour, until Nnamdi Kanu and other Self-Determination advocates (IPOB, MASSOB, BIM members) are released without Compromise, there is no meaningful discussion this FG would have in South-East Nigeria.

Nigerians know the important role of Ndigbo in this country. If anyone here doubts me, why has it been so difficult to have a fruitful discussion about the Self-Determination of Ndigbo in this country. What are the fears in the political circle since 1966?

If Ndigbo are full of themselves and not important, why the Political Masturbation by State actors anytime Biafra is mentioned?

Ndigbo, enough of this Political Correctness.

Let me use this medium to thank Prof. Charles Soludo,  Prof. Pat Utomi, Mazi Ikechukwu Emeka Onyia et al for taking out time out of their very busy schedules to visit our son, brother and Buhari's Political Prisoner, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. I also hail my friend and brother, Comrade Sodiq Adelakun for his photographic sagacity.

Although, I am yet to get a comprehensive detail of their discussion.

Be that as it may, like the Cock crows in the morning, I say to Ndigbo- Kukurukuuuuuuuuu!
