We Never Denied FC Ifeanyiubah Players Entry Visas — Egyptian Embassy

The Egypt Embassy in Nigeria has denied reports that they refused to grant two  FC Ifeanyiubah players entry visas to travel for today's CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Al-Masry SC, Complete sports reports. 

The two players; Isaac Loute and Onyekachi Akakem could not travel with their teammates for the game with an official of the club claiming  they were refused visas due to the late submission of their travel documents.

But the embassy has  debunked the report insisting that the two players' names were not included in the list submitted to them.

"We assure that our consulate section had not denied issuing visas for the two  players (Isaac Loute and Onyekachi Akakem). The names of  the players were never submitted by FC Ifeanyiubah to get visas," a statement made available by Ahmed Maher, Head of the Press and information Office of the Egypt Embassy in Nigeria says.

"All the names provided to the embassy by FC Ifeanyiubah were immediately issued entry visas to Egypt as a demonstration of positive cooperation with the club and the Nigerian people."

FC Ifeanyiubah won the first leg of the preliminary round fixture played  last Sunday at 'the Fortress' Ifeanyiubah International Stadium Nnewi 1-0.

The overall winner of the contest will face Djoliba of Mali in the next round.
