Let me tell you a true life story about Nyesom Wike and Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State.

Some years ago, Rotimi Amaechi was governor of Rivers State. He embarked on massive construction projects around the state. Part of the construction projects he executed were federal projects. In total, he spent N105billion executing federal projects in Rivers State. The federal government acknowledged receipt of this debt and promised to pay back.

Along the line, Rotimi Amaechi got into trouble with the federal government led by Goodluck Jonathan. In 2014, Rotimi Amaechi applied for a refund of the money spent on federal roads. During this time, Rotimi had derailed from the focused and respected leader he used to be in Rivers state and had become an unpredictable and opposition leader.

At that same time, Nyesom Wike was part of the Federal Government. He had the President's ears concerning issues that affects Rivers State. Rotimi Amaechi directly accused Nyesom Wike of persuading the federal government not to release the funds.

There was election around the corner and it was obvious that Rotimi was a major sponsor of the federal opposition APC party at the federal level. Releasing N105billion to an opposition leader like Rotimi Amaechi at that time would be suicidal on the part of the federal government. It would simply amount to funding your enemy to kill you. So as expected, the federal government led by Goodluck Jonathan refused to release the Rivers state funds to the Rotimi Amaechi administration. Nyesom Wike obviously supported the federal government at that time to withold the funds.

Nyesom Wike is now the governor of Rivers State. He now needs that N105billion from the federal government. Well, Rotimi Amaechi is now at the federal government and he has the President's ears especially concerning issues that affects Rivers State. The Rotimi we know will certainly support the Buhari led FG to withhold the funds from the Nyesom Wike administration.

To cut long story short. Rivers State people are the losers of the whole arrangement.
