Opinion on House of Reps members requesting for N1.4 trillion out of N7 trillion 2017 Budget.

N7 trillion 2017 budget.

Out of which members of the National Assembly are demanding for N1.4 trillion for their Constituency Projects (owo for the boys).

Constituency Projects is an aberration in a federal system of government or any other system. You can be making laws and also be executing at the same time.

Constituency Projects signposted the corruption we accept as normal in our government. With the report release this year on constituency projects I expected this government to abolish it entirely. And that those yearning for the constituency projects are from both shameless APC and holier than thou PDP shows we've all been had.

 And you are busy fighting over politicians with yiur already recessed incomes?

Can you imagine that 469 humans are asking  for 1.4 trillion from a budget of N7trillion. Leaving about 169.14 million with N5.6 trillion.

Moreover,this same 469 people will still share from the N5.6 trillion from which they are demanding N100 million for each of them annually aside their humongous salaries and allowances.

Of what use is a bicameral legislature where over 65% of the legislators hardly sit for debates or deliberations?

Why should legislators who hardly sit for debates be paid sitting allowances?

Why should 469 people make laws for us when we lack what it takes to execute and enforce the laws we already have?

Who bewitched Nigeria?

How on earth do you think a country like this will make a dent on poverty, build infrastructure, take care of schools and hospitals, fight crime and grow its econony?

The earlier Nigeria is restructured the better because what we have as a country is a farce.

This hopeless contraption is unsustainable. We are living on borrowed time as a nation.
