Eric Darko charges fully but was brought down for a freekick, twenty-three minutes into the game and the resultant freekick by Osanga was off target again. Wikki Tourist's Bature Yaro shoots from range but goalkeeper Bamba made the catch look so easy at the 30th minute. The game was balanced for about eight minutes until Wikki had a counter attack through Shammah Tanze and he passed the ball to Bature Yaro who was in an offside position. Afterwards, it was more of a midfield battle, both team tried to outwit the other but failed. At stoppage time, Seka Pascale receives a lose ball but his effort to shoot was furtile as the linesman signals for an offside and then came the half-time whistle.

At the resumption of the break, Coach Kenichi Yatsuhaghi who was having his first test of competitive football with Fc Ifeanyi Ubah, introduced Tony Msonter for Eric Darko in his first substitution. The game grew intense, with another fine midfield display from Loute Isaac to Osanga to Seka to Yaya and the delighted crowd cheered at the 48th minute. A minute later, Fc Ifeanyi Ubah's Okoh Emmanuel lobbed a freekick to Seka, whoheaded it to his compatriot Kone but the ball fell on his weaker right foot and his shot was blocked easily.
