OPINION: Let's face facts, What really is the problem Governor Willie created? By Obiwulu DonStan

The first two years of Governors Pita obi, Ngige Chris and Mbadinuju, if compared to that of Willie, which do you think is the best? During the era of Pita Obi, Mbadinuju and Ngige,  The civil servant appear displeased with their systems of governance. And On the other hands, the political jobbers were all having a field day.

Now, Willie's regime appear to have favoured the civil servants and the political jobbers are now disenchanted with Willie. It is my humble opinion  to submit that it is too early to cry foul,  Governor Willie should be giving the opportunity to complete his eight years tenure after which the next Governor will be elected from amidst the professional career civil servants in the State.

This is necessary because businessmen in  politics has so bastardized our system all in the name of politicking. It is high time we support active career civil servants to go into politics so they can help sanitize the polluted system.

Using the neopatrimonial theory to explain the effect of the activities of businessmen in Anambra politics,  it appear an understatement such that if they are allowed to pilot the affairs of the state, the state of things will be so bad.  This men at times appear so callous, raw, knobbly and crude such that the only thing in their mind is profit maximisation  profit even to the detriment of the populace. They do not understand the nexus between public life and private life and merger of private and public life destabilizes the society.

In summary,  I want to beckon on all change canvassers to keep their change canvass and join force with Willie to advance our dear state forward.  Wherever he is erred,  it should be pointed out and let the Governor take corrections... Let us not be too quick to embrace change mantra... The urgency in our embrace of change is simply an exhibition of our greed to benefit from the government of the day. If truly we are change agents, we will join force with the Governor to better our dear state. Irrespective of the fact that we are benefiting individually or not from the government.
