OPINION: Lagos State Bus Conductor Jobs, An Act Of Encouraging Under Employment!

"It doesn't matter what course you study in University, you can work or be employed in any reputable organization in Nigeria"

I remember hearing the statement above years ago, and as young as I was then, I knew something was and is still really wrong with the way the average Nigerian think no matter their formal education.


Lagos State Government has not thought deeply why people study Science and Technology courses and most cant find jobs that suit the knowledge they acquired, rather they are encouraging more that even if you study Micro Biology, Electric Engineering, Chemical Engineering, etc it will offer you a job as Bus Conductor.

To believe Government leaders can think like this in Lagos State, shows Nigeria the so called giant of Africa is in deep mess.

If the short cut to no jobs is to offer University Graduates Bus Conductor jobs, then how can such leaders lead to solve even bigger problems of why some students study some courses and the society cant help them with jobs for their acquired knowledge?

Bus Conductor jobs for graduate is encouraging Super Under Employment!

There are many unemployed and even underemployed people, and they need money, but who says secondary school leavers don't need jobs?

And who says some Elderly people don't need jobs and can't do these conductor jobs?

Are University Graduates the only unemployed Nigerians who deserve this kind of jobs to offer them? . .

Why for a University Graduate?

If i decide to even be a Bus Conductor with University Degree on my own, it is my choice. Or i decide to be a road cleaner, but when a Government starts encouraging underemployment, it shows how no century compliant the mental thought process of the people who came up with this idea are.
