Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has assured that his administration will continue to be prompt in payment of salaries of civil servants, teachers and entitlement of pensioners in the state.
Speaking in Port Harcourt,, capital of Rivers State at an event to mark the 25 anniversary of Anambra State, the governor said he was in Port Harcourt to acquaint Anambrarians in the state of the success of his administration, adding that he would also get their suggestions on how to move the state forward.
Governor Obiano said his administration had tackled the challenges of insecurity in Anambra, noting that he had also given special attention to development of education and the agricultural sector. He said that at the moment, the state was producing 210000 metric tonnes of rice, stressing that the rice was rated best in Africa.
“We pay salaries before the 24th of every month. We are not owing pensioners . We will give rice to each civil servant in the state this Christmas,” Obiano said.
