Opinion By Chidi Orjika: The Bridge :- Do we still have the Connect?

Once more its time to talk,
The Bridge :- Do we still have the Connect?

I have noticed that when certain stories  are retold it tends  to  mirror the reality of the time, and accrued experiences learned  from studying how various factors  attempted to shape the story.

Thus, here come the story of a Legislator.

Her Name is Obiarananma Rita Maduagwu- the wife of Ukpor Millionaire  called Obataobie.

She was humbly carrying on with her duties as a wife, mother and business partner to her husband until that *Calling*.

Like an amazon she blazed through the political space, with the heart of a lioness mastered the political jungle and became the Member Representing Nnewi South Constituency II - a constituency of  4 Towns and 11 Wards  in the Anambra State House of Assembly in 2011 under the platform of then ACN.

Latently, with concentrated  careful understudy of the political potokiri of her constituency observing the long gap between the much touted
_Electoral promises_ and its *actual fulfillment*
she chose the word - THE BRIDGE which not  only served as a political a.k.a but,   formed her guiding principles; the foundation of her political mission, vision and accomplishments.

Guided by the above;  looking at  the necessity of time, the pressing demands of the peoples and a place for  confirmed assurances of fulfilling her mission she *ported* to APGA  under which she was able to fulfill  majority of her Electoral promises.

Her results are there and for wont of time, i cannot go into mentioning them here, but we cannot forget that besides the Renovation of almost all the public schools in her constituency, youths and women empowerment, employment etc, she attracted one of the longest KM of road in Anambra state to her constituency.
That's was 2011- 2015

Then, the 2015 Election came, she climbed on the mountain of her achievements and looked at the electorate and asked

*Have I not provided the BRIDGE that connects your needs straight to the corridors of fulfillment?*.

 The answer was unanimously Yes!!!
Consequently, after all the political catwalks, consultations and the strategic masterstroke of the NEAR POLITICIAN husband  - Obataobie, she was  re-relected for the second time.

Meanwhile, it is a naked truth that her mandate from the  Electorate  was simply to represent their interests, yearnings, aspirations and dividends needs at the state Assembly, but like the Lioness of the jungle, she cautiously mastered not only the political process but acquired the legislative dexterity to the envy of her colleague.

Today with some political power play, intrigues, horse trading, and alignment of interests, she is now the SPEAKER of the ANAMBRA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY - a position that places her as No.3 in the government hierarchy  of Anambra State.

She is No. 3 most important Person of interest in Anambra state.

However, almost two years is gone since her re - election and ascension to the exalted office of the Speaker and many have been murmuring, some have been whispering, others have entered into some sort of continuous soliloquy while a few has dared to ask
 * what's has gone wrong*?

What has happened to our Bridge?

Do we still have the connect in the language of Phyno?

Personally, I had reasoned that with the privilege of her office that the Bridge of our wants and yearnings of the constituents will not only connect us directly to the corridors of power, but straight to the boardroom of power decision making and Kitchen where the pot of Hot Dishes of dividends of Democracy are served hot to Ndi Anambra

Now, without patronising me,

Do You think she is still the BRIDGE?
