The people of Amihe-Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government of Anambra State have lamented so much over the poor and deteriorating conditions of the road which starts from Afor-Ukpor and ends in Ozubulu.
A member of the community told our correspondent that the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi awarded the road under the auspices of Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu, the Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly and member representing Nnewi South Constituency ii.
He said the road has been in that condition without completion for over two years, and as such, poses great danger to the people of Amihe and Ukpor in general.
Another member of the community told our correspondent that the construction company with the name IDC rented his house where they parked some of their tools, and after some time, ran away to Aguleri without completing their payment to him.
According to another member of the community, Mr Godwin, since the road was abandoned, means of movement has become very difficult for them.
"The rainy season has made everything worse. It will take you about one hour to drive to Ozubulu or other parts of Ukpor, and this is a journey that is not up to five minutes before now," he said.
They further used this medium to urge the executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, to please pay attention to their predicament and alleviate the hardship of Ukpor people by getting the road in proper shape.
They equally congratulated the Governor for all the good works he is doing in other parts of the state, and pray that the good Lord will always guide and protect him.
