Central defender Stones completed his City medical and is has signed a contract on Tuesday after saying his goodbyes at Everton, BBC Sports reported.
Stones was initially announced as a City player on Tuesday morning on the Uefa website, when his name was listed in the club’s Champions League play-off squad for the game against Steaua Bucharest.
City had registered the 22-year-old after finally agreeing a fee with Everton which could eventually reach just under £50million depending on various bonuses.
But in an embarrassing turn of events, Stones has been allocated the shirt No. 24 and included in City's Champions League squad, despite neither club announcing a deal yet.
