Enugu State Police Command Warns Citizens Over Drugging Of Fruit Juice And Satchet Water

The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria police Force through its operatives of the Central Police Station Enugu through a tip off  received arrested one Sunday Chukwu who claimed he is from Akpoga Nike Emene in Enugu at about 4pm.He was nabbed at Ogbete main market axis of the state by the operatives where his victim later identified as one Emmanuel Okoro from Aninri  was promptly rescued from the scene where he was lying down unconscious.


It was gathered through the instant probe by the operatives  that suspect and victim were discovered to be to be co-passengers in a tricycle popularly known as KEKE NAPEP and had boarded the said tricycle from Agbani road axis of the state to Ogbete main market  and that while in the tricycle, suspect allegedly offered the victim an already poisoned satchet water which the victim drank and became unconscious and consequently broke down at a nearby shop where suspect trailed him to search his pockets in order to collect his money and valuables. It was further gathered that in the course of allegedly stealing money and valuables from victim who is already unconscious and lying down, operatives were promptly alerted leading to the arrest of suspect and the rescue of the unconscious victim who was immediately taken to hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile suspect is helping the police in their  investigations in relation to his criminal activities and has revealed  further how their gang members used to drug tricycle/taxicab drivers with a view to dispossessing them of their vehicles, money and other valuables including other passengers.To this end, the Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force are advising passengers/Drivers to be wary/security conscious about what the receive as edible/drink items to avoid falling into the criminal antics of these mischief makers while the command intensifies manhunt in partnership with relevant stake holders on them to further fish them out so that they can face the full wrath of the law.
