Juan Mata is set to depart Manchester United after being put up for sale by manager Jose Mourinho, per Duncan Castles of the Daily Record.
According to Castles, the £37.1 million signing does not fit into Mourinho's plans and has been put up for sale by the club, with the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan boss beginning a complete squad overhaul after missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification last season.
The former Chelsea midfielder was let go by the Portuguese coach during their short-lived time together at Chelsea in 2014, and history is set to repeat itself following Mourinho's arrival at Old Trafford.

Despite winning the Player of the Year award in the year prior to Mourinho's move to the west London club, Mata was unable to persuade his manager that he could be part of his plans this time around.
Once again, the Spain international has fallen short of his new manager's expectations and is now preparing to exit United following a three-year spell with the club.
