The Brazilian was on the brink of joining Sporting Lisbon — but the move broke down when a medical showed a serious condition with his heart, which sparked fears he may have to end his career prematurely.
Unfortunately, Silva has now confirmed fans’ concerns as he changed his Instagram bio to announce he had been forced to retire.
It now reads: “I fought the good fight, I finished my career, I have kept the faith”.
