"No one ever gets involved in anything that would help their fellow citizens except he/she is guaranteed of his/her personal interests and pockets." Opinion by Okey Igbokwe on protests against Dino Melaye

Three days ago, Bring-back-our-girls group issued a press statement attacking Dino Melaye over his altercations with Remi Tinubu, a fellow senator.

Today, another group of women known as, Women Concern Group (WCG), staged a protest with banners and placards against Mr Melaye for exchanging words with Remi Tinubu.

Their claim is that they are fighting for the rights of women because Melaye insulted
womanhood.

Some months ag

o, Ese Oruru, a young girl was abducted by a fellow from the North and raped repeatedly, forcefully converted to islam and later made pregrant. The fellow frustrated all efforts by the girls parents to regain their daughter.

While all these was going on, there was no Bring-back-our-girls group to issue press statement for her release or in protection of womanhood. No women group anywhere staged a protest to fight for the rights of womanhood.

In May, a woman was butchered by muslim fundamentalists in kano. There was no women 'rights' group and Bbog to stage any protest in defence of womanhood.

Days ago, another woman was butchered by muslim fundamentalists in Kubwa. Yet despite the outrage, no women 'rights' group or Bbog staged a protest or issue press statement in defence of women.

From the above scenario, you can easily observe the true picture of what Nigeria truly is or represents: a disgusting lump of entity steeped in sentiments of every nature; religious, regional and ethnic.

No one ever gets involved in anything that would help their fellow citizens except he/she is guaranteed of his/her personal interests and pockets.

Now you can see what Nigeria problem really is. Not the fanciful corruption they are painting before you.

Join the call for a #Referendum to renegotiate Nigeria.
