POEM: Crippled Economy, “Thou help cometh from where?", by Ezeokoye Vanessa Onyinye

Ezeokoye Vanessa Onyinye
CRIPPLED ECONOMY

The heralds of a widows anguish,
The spite of a widow’s mite
And deranged citizens without might
Thou help cometh from where?

Sorrow and anguish
Joined forces with low voltage and high fuel prices
They say dollar has risen again
Thou help cometh from where?

See the joy of the government magicians
As they root and loot the nation’s purse
Flying their kids out for a better life
Thou help cometh from where?

Youths dart about
In and out, feigning truancy
And implementing abortion
Though help cometh from where?

They preach change
The change now pierces deep
Nigeria say no to change, more so
Thou help cometh from where?
