Obiano Summons Commissioner Of Works As Delegates From Old Nnewi Region Pay Him Visit At Government House Awka

On Monday, May 23, 2016, Delegates from old Nnewi region which comprises three local government; Nnewi South, Nnewi North and Ekwusigo met with the governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano at government house Awka. 


According to our correspondent, the major aim of the visit was to remind the governor of all the abandoned state projects in the region. 

They equally told him that the next Anambra State governor will come from old Nnewi region after the completion of his tenure.

The delegates includes: Chief Mbazulike Amechi(Ukpor), Hon. Chieloka(Akwa-Ihedi), Chief John Uzokwe(Ozubulu), Chief Ifeanyi Ubah(Nnewi), Dame Virgy Etiaba(Nnewi, former Anambra State governor), Dim Nnakife(Ukpor), Chief Mike Agbasi(Ukpor), Chief Emeka Ojukwu(Nnewi), Rt. Hon. Rita Maduagwu(Ukpor, speaker Anambra State House of Assembly), all the PG's, all the traditional rulers, Chairmen of the three local government that made up the old Nnewi region etc... 

In his response, governor Obiano promised to do everything possible to make sure that all the projects in the region will be completed as soon as possible. 

The governor also disclosed that contractor will soon be back to work at the ongoing road construction in Ukpor through Ozubulu , to solve the unsavory experience of travellers and community members on that road. 

The governor, therefore, summoned the commissioner for works immediately to make sure they start preparing to go back to site.

The delegation left feeling more satisfied than ever and assured Governor Obiano of their support and loyalty at all times.
