A black cloth covered my eyes before I stabbed my twin to death —Suspect

A man accused of stabbing his twin brother to death with a kitchen knife was on Thursday arraigned before an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrate’s Court.

Destiny John, 26, was said to have stabbed one Israel John also 26, multiple times with a kitchen knife which led to his death. The deceased was said to be a twin brother of the accused.

The incident happened on May 16, at their residence at 41, Olorunkemi Street, Bariga.

Earlier when he was arrested, John had allegedly confessed to the crime adding that he did not kill his brother intentionally and that there was no quarrel between them.

He further said that all he remembered was that he went out to ease himself in the midnight, and he felt that his eyes were covered with a black cloth and he did not know what was happening to him.

He also said that before he knew what was happening, he had stabbed his twin brother with a kitchen knife which eventually led to his death.

 The defendant was arraigned on one-count of committing murder.

The prosecutor, Corporal Kokoye Olusegun, who was represented by Corporal Adelowo Ola, requested the remand of the defendant in prison custody.

 The magistrate, Mrs. O. O. A. Fowowe granted the request that the defendant should be remanded in prison and the case was adjourned till June 27, 2016.
