Friday December 8th Update On “Modern Homemaker” Episode 3 - 5

Kanhaiya finally reaches the room and finds the empty bed. He wonders where Sona is when she comes out of bathroom in a night gown and Kanhaiya is lost looking at her. Sona says the wedding dress was too heavy so she changed. Kanhaiya replied that she made his job easy as he was confused how to lift her ghoonghat. Sona says she removed her makeup too when Kanhaiya says he likes simplicity a lot and she is looking extremely beautiful. Kanhaiya and Sona recall their memories at their first meet and how they were impressed with each other.

Kanhaiya comes behind her and gifts her a small necklace. Sona says she doesn't like jewelleries much. Kanhaiya feels bad seeing which Sona says it's beautiful and asks him to make her wear it. Kanhaiya says she is more beautiful and puts it around her neck while a background song ‘ Tune jo pal bhar mein chori kiya re jiya” is play. Sona blushes as Kanhaiya says she is gorgeous. He hesitates to toch her while Sona smiles. Slowly they sit on the bed and come close to each other and are lost in each other’s eyes. Kanhaiya puts his handkerchief on Sona’s head as ghoonghat and then removes it. She holds his hand and Kanhaiya blushes.

Just then Sona hears someone calling her when her Granny’s image comes in front of her and further recalls the advice of her grandmother cautioning her not to surrender herself to her husband before understanding him knowing him properly and not to do the mistakes her mom did and hereby tackles the situation regarding Kanhaiya, in her favour.

Kanhaiya comes and Sona says she has got a sudden headache. Kanhaiya says he will drive away the headache then it will be their suhaagraat. Sona lies on the bed while he presses her head and finally sleeps off.

Suhnaina’s Devar calls Sona’s Granny and praises Sona that she is happy with the way the marriage went about. Sunaina comes and tells Devar to ask about Shagun ( gift from the bride family) while Devar says the wedding was magnanimous. Granny says when they die they don't carry money with them so what's the use of money. Devar agrees while Sunaina gets irritated. Devar says they are very broadminded and have a huge heart and they don't want anything other than Sona. Sunaina Devi gets hesitated to interrupt ( Sona's Granny) Girja's conversation with her brother in law and forces him to ask about Shagun gifts when Granny says a kanyadaan is the biggest daan…Sunaina gets irritated and leaves.

Neelam is busy cooking in the kitchen when Sona comes there. Neelam tells her that she is not supposed to come to kitchen as she is newly married. Sona respond back that this is her house too. Neelam insist that she won't be cooking in future as she will be resuming office work soon. Sona then remind her that she is also a daughter in-law of this house and wants to help her. Neelam gets scared hearing her mother in-law Sunaina’s voice and declare that she is the housewife who doesn't go to office so she is supposed to cook the food for all or his mother in-law will scold her. Sona refuses to leave while Sunaina comes there and scolds Neelam for involving Sona in kitchen work. Sona clear the misunderstanding that Neelam didn't call her while Sunaina says she is the new daughter-in-law and Neelam shouldn't have made her come to kitchen. Sunaina Devi gets annoyed on Neelam after her conversation with Sona.

Later in the hall Sunaina Devi assembles all and says Neelam tried to act like Sona's mother in-law. Kanhaiya supports his mom telling Neelam that she can't become Sona’s mother-in-law. The other working daughter in-laws join and start accusing Neelam as she is the housewife and supposed to do all the work. Kanhaiya adds that all these days Neelam has been cooking as she is the housewife so why today she asked Sona to help. Seeing that Kanhaiya and the other family members hold Neelam in guilt for involving her ( Sona ) in household chores, Sona comes to her rescue and claim that it's her first day in her in-law so she wanted to cook for all of them. Kanhaiya is pleased while Devar tells Sunaina that Sona is very sanskaari daughter-in-law. Sunaina says that's okay but in their house working daughter in-laws don't do kitchen work. Sona gets to know the family dynamics but disagrees with them and insist that she wanted to cook for them for her happiness. Sunaina is pleased and asks Neelam to bring the cooked food, makes Sona touch them all and says the rasam is done. Kanhaiya is pleased when Sona says till she resumes work she wants to cook for all and requests her mother in-law Sunaina to allow her. Devar too asks her to agree and Sunaina finally agrees and asks Neelam to help her. Kanhaiya tells that he too will go to police station when Sona says he is her better half so should help her in kitchen. Kanhaiya and all are shocked when he asks how can he come and cook with her but finally much to everyone’s surprise agrees. Sona seeks her mother in-law Suhnaina’s blessings who tells her to keep getting good promotions and salary hikes regularly. Sunaina then asks Neelam to clean her room as she has no kitchen work today.

The 4 brothers and their wives are discussing about Sona and how to keep a grip on her. Meanwhile in the kitchen, Kanhaiya tells Sona that yesterday they couldn't have suhaagraat( wedding night ) but today will be their consummation. Sona asks him to help with sugar bottle when Kanhaiya touches her lips and says it's sugary. Sona blushes and turns while Kanhaiya holds her saree and tries to pull her towards him…”Kuch khaas hain kuch paas hain” song plays in the background while their romance continues. Kanhaiya holds her hand and brings Sona close to him and tries to kiss while she turns away and meanwhile the dough falls down. Sona asks if he has come here to help her or increase her trouble. Kanhaiya asks if she wants Neelam to help her. Sona replied that when he is here she doesn't need anyone and holds his hand. Kanhaiya lost at her touch and closes his eyes while Sona asks him to wait and leaves.

Neelam is washing the clothes. Sona further notices Neelam being bullied by her family members when she observes how Darshana is also making Neelam wash her clothes. Neelam is made to do everyone’s work and Sona feels bad.

Chicku gives Sona the broom and goes to Neelam and asks if he can help her. Neelam says that this is a job of a housewife, she thanks her and Neelam is shown washing the clothes while Sona is putting labels to all the containers in the kitchen with Kanhaiya and putting back at the respective places. Neelam on the other hand is shown sweeping and cleaning the house. Sona turns and sees Kanhaiya dreaming and asks what is he dreaming of. Kanhaiya romances with Sona in the Kitchen and says he wish if there was a bed here but Sona interrupts him and asks so what? Kanhaiya says at least their wedding night can take place here. Kanhaiya then reaches out his hand and takes the container with Sugar. Sona says he have really found it and Kanhaiya asks Sona to hold the container in her hands and takes picture with his mobile. Kanhaiya keeps taking pictures as Sona is cooking and applies flour on her face and takes a picture. Meanwhile,Bindiya and Renu is hiding and watching them while Neelam walks into the kitchen and sees Sona and Kanhaiya snapping a picture together. Neelam makes a noise to alert them of her presence and Kanhaiya immediately says his sister in-law Neelam is here, so he will leave. Sona refuses that he is not leaving anywhere till she finish cooking. Neelam sees all the containers with labels being arranged neatly, she is impress and tells Sona, that she had changed everything. She adds that all this while, she never thought of it and it's alright and it will not be hard to do work anymore. She tells Sons not to mind and offer to help her but Sona stops her.

Neelam asks if she had done anything wrong in which Sona replied that she had not done anything wrong but she wants to complete her rasam ( work) and adds that Neelam is on break today. Just then, Sunaina calls out to Neelam. Renu and Bindiya on the other hand, plot a strategy against Sona. Bindiya says she is closing her palour for the first time and trusting her ( Renu ). Renu also inform her that she have also take leave from college and sitting at home. She will never let the tradition of this house to change and she have a doubt. She tells her partner in crime to just look after Kanhaiya in the kitchen and she will look after the rest. Renu asks for lime from Renu saying with just one drop of lime, everything will change. Chicku listens to this and slowly follows Renu and Bindiya. As Bindiya is about to go into the kicthen, but Chicku smartly screws their plotting as he lights a lighter and Bindiya gets scared and goes away. Manohar comes and pulls Chicku’s ears asking what is he doing here and Chicku says if anything goes wrong, he won’t be getting commission from Kanhaiya. Manohar says he was joking and goes away. Sona says to Kanhaiya to go and inform everyone that dinner is ready. Kanhaiya takes a magazine and announces that Sona’s first lunch is ready, Sona laughs. Everyone sits for food and as Neelam is serving, Sona makes Neelam sit while Sunaina says she would eat after everyone eating. Sona says she will feel good if Neelam eats together and makes Neelam sit down saying she and her husband will serve everyone and they will eat after everyone eats. Darshana says she wished if the food was more spicy and Kanhaiya asks if he want it more spicy, he will make it more spicy and puts masala in the food.

Renu complains that the puri is small and Sona says she made the small one for the kids and the big ones for the grown ups. As Bindiya, Bade and Manohar complains, Kanhaiya supports Sona by replying back. Julie says she loves the food and Sona serves them halwaa. Sunaina says now that the tradition is finished, he would not need to look at the kitchen again and concentrate on his job. She then asks for a gift for herself. Sunaina takes out a ring from her fingers and says it's for Sona saying the food was good and if the shagun had arrived, the food would be much nicer. Sunaina’s Devar ji says it would come. Just then a delivery guy comes asking if this is the house of Kanhaiya weds Sona? Suhnaina says yes it is and who he want to meet. The delivery guy says he have come from Sona’s family bringing the shagun. Hearing this,  everyone gets excited that Sona's grandmother sends Shagun at the Chaturvedis.

The people keeps bringing in the shagun and keeps in a room. After Sunaina receives gifts from Sona’s family, her ungenerous nature does not allow her to give the gifts to the rest of the family, but rather, she keeps them to herself. She locks the Shagun in her room and leaves everyone wondering. Sunaina asks what everyone is looking at? She assures them that they will all get it tomorrow and everyone starts leaving. Sona asks why her mother in-law locking the store room? Kanhaiya says she don’t know about his family member and not to trust anyone here as everyone is like east, west, north and south. He adds that if his mom had not used the lock, all the gifts would be missing by morning. Sona says since the gifts are already here, why not distribute it to everyone? Everyone was so excited and Kanhaiya says what ever his mom does is right and she thinks a lot.

What she does is always right and he will listen to anything in the world but nothing against his mom because his mom is always right and Sona thinks. Devar ji thinks that the Shagun items have arrived and she must be really happy now. He goes to her room and sees where is she. Sunaina is shown in the store room opening the gifts one by one and counting the money in the envelopes. Julie is talking on the phone with her boyfriend saying she can’t wait to wear the suit the next day. Renu and Bindiya is also excited in the room imagining about the gift and sarees they are going to get while Sunaina is going through all the gifts one by one and keeps passing remarks about each of them. Neelam tells her husband that Sona’s family have done the gifts according to everyone and they need to be thankful to them. Sunaina counts the money and thinks that she can’t wait to get the first salary of her new daughter in-law, Sona. Julie is reading her love letter, Dimple keeps watching and someone knocks the door and it's Bade. He comes asking for Dimple and Julie’s books to see if they had hidden any letters in their books and leaves. He then asks for Julies phone and gives it back. He then stamps a checkboard saying ‘Checked’ and enters his room. He sees Bindiya doing make up, he asks her to stop her make up and worry on her daughters as he is checking on them daily.

Kanhaiya is in his room and Sona on the other hand follow her grandmother's advice and keep Kanhaiya in her control. She is opening her boxes one by one and taking out her clothes. Kanhaiya says he is staying awake for her while she is doing other work. Sona says her Daadi had sent a lot of things, so it would take time for her to arrange it and Sona slowly arranges the things while Kanhaiya falls asleep. Sona’s Daadi appears in her cupboard and tells Sona to keep making Kanhaiya waiting like this until both of them have a good understanding. Only then nothing can break her relationship and Sona smiles.
