"I respect the catholic church. I have nothing against anyone but the church hierarchy is frustrating me and my ministry. I want to move on and serve God in a different capacity. I pray for those who will criticize and mock me. May God forgive them. I repeat, I'm now Reverend Patrick Edet, I am a free man," he said on Planet FM radio Uyo.

Meanwhile, the catholic church is yet to react to his resignation.

  1. Rev. Fr. Henry Patrick Edet, the Nigerian fire brand evangelist, Holy Spirit filled, Pentecost-style, Bible-rich, grace preaching Catholic priest has finally resigned to pursue his ministry full time outside the influence of the Catholic Church. If you have ever heard or witnessed him preach, you know he is uniquely and strongly anointed. Personally I am happy for him understanding how much pressure he must have been dealing with. It was a bold step I must say. #HenryPatrickEdet #Congratulations

  2. The hierarchy of the Catholic Church isn't the only one that frustrates people... it's in the christendom.... go to these very large churches and hear their stories, this is the reason why many impatient ones will always leave to form their own ministries or church.. Fr mbaka fought hard and his resilience paid off... i love Fr Edet. but he has hurt me... If his move is holy spirit directed then am in full support and if not... He knows better..
