According to an eyewitnesses, he was waiting for a bus that would convey him to his destination when an 18 seater bus belonging to Peace Mass Transport Company with number plate Ebonyi AFK 249 XA crushed him to the death unawares. The driver of the vehicle later said it suffered brake failure.
Some of the passengers sustained various degree of injuries.
