After being the first civilian to buy a Humvee (family of light, four-wheel drive, military trucks and utility vehicles produced by AM General) in 1992, Arnold Schwarzenegger was spotted driving the first electric Hummer in Santa Monica on Wednesday, California.
The 71-year-old actor was spotted smoking a cigar while driving the red Hummer, which was modeled after the much larger H1.
The actor has long been a fan of the massive military vehicles, buying the first military Humvee in 1992 from manufacturer AM General.
He ultimately convinced the company to produce a modified, street-legal version for civilians, and he purchased the first two civilian Hummer H1 vehicles they rolled off the assembly line in 1992.
The vehicle is equipped with high-performance batteries from Kreisel Electric featuring a 100 kWh capacity and two electric motors on the front and back axles, with a system output of 360 kW (490 PS). The vehicle can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h and has a range of about 300 kilometers and a total weight of 3,300 kg.
The standard version of this vehicle consumes up to 24 liters of fuel for every 100 kilometers and emits up to 470g CO2 per kilometer. Very good one.
