Robber Arrested After Using Stolen Phone To Call Victim's Daughter

 NOTORIOUS Edo State armed robber Ugbusun Samson has been arrested by police after he fell in love with the daughter of one of his victims and decided to a stolen phone to call her and profess his love.




Men of the Edo State Police Command have been searching for Mr Samson for a while but up until this week, he had managed to successfully elude capture. However, this week, Mr Samson, a bricklayer, had stolen two mobile phones from victims after breaking into their homes at Etete in Oredo Local Government Area of the state, which proved to be his undoing.



He fell in love with the daughter of one of his victims and used the stolen number to talk to her and call her over to his house. Abiodun Osifo, the Edo State Police Command spokesperson, confirmed that they acted on a tip-off after Mr Samson met up with the girl and arrested him.



Mr Samson said: “I stole handsets at Etete, through the window around 11pm, removing the handset through the window of the house by tearing the net. I saw the victim’s daughter's number on the phone I stole, so I called the girl and told her that I love her.



"She came and spent the night with me and went back to school. However, the police came to my hideout the following day and fished me out.”



He told the police that he took to crime to raise money to carry out the burial ceremony of his late father. Mr Samson was eventually apprehended after the girl discovered who he was and later revealed his whereabouts.
