Acting on the directive of Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal that operatives of Rapid Response Squad posted to Oshodi intensify efforts at further reducing criminal activities in the area, an Indian Hemp seller, was arrested early yesterday morning with 134 raps of Indian hemp in polythene bag.
The suspect, Tayo Ayoade, 27 year old, road union member in Oshodi, was arrested by the RRS operatives on patrol of Oshodi on Monday with N7, 000:00 worth of hard drug.
Ayoade who collects money from bus drivers on behalf of the Road Union stated that he sells the drug to his colleagues in Oshodi and Mushin. He added that he has been in the business for more than three years.
The hemp were neatly packaged in drug sachet in different quantities with its wrapping papers.
He added that apart from miscreants who patronize him, corporate individuals and well to do people come around to pick hemp from him too.
He added that he starts selling the hard drug as early as 5:00 a.m. every day.
